Encrypted connectivity

- How it works
- Uses industry-recognised protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN) to establish an encrypted tunnel.

- Limitations
- Encryption applies between your device and the VPN server — not end-to-end to every destination.
Public Wi-Fi protection
Available- What it does
- Reduces exposure when using shared networks in airports, cafés and hotels.
- How it works
- The VPN tunnel prevents other devices on the local network from observing your traffic contents.
- Supported platforms

- Limitations
- Does not protect against malicious device software or compromised destinations.
Quick Connect
Available- What it does
- Connects to a recommended available server with one action.
- How it works
- Selects the closest healthy server in your region based on availability.
- Supported platforms
- Windows, macOS
- Limitations
- May prefer regional servers; you can override manually.
Auto-connect on untrusted networks
Available- What it does
- Starts the VPN automatically when joining a network not marked as trusted.
- How it works
- Compares the joined SSID against your trusted-network list.
- Supported platforms
- Windows, macOS
- Limitations
- Requires the app to be running and permitted to auto-start.
Kill switch
Available- What it does
- Blocks network traffic if the VPN connection unexpectedly drops.
- How it works
- System-level firewall rules restrict outbound traffic to the VPN interface.

- Limitations
- Behaviour on suspend/hibernate depends on the operating system.
Protocol selection
Available- What it does
- Choose between supported protocols to balance speed and compatibility.
- How it works
- Switch protocol from the connection settings in the app.

- Not all protocols are available on all platforms during rollout.
DNS leak protection
Available- What it does
- Routes DNS queries through the VPN tunnel to reduce unintended exposure.
- How it works
- The app configures the operating system to use Sitrava-provided DNS while connected.
- Supported platforms
- Windows, macOS
- Limitations
- System-level or browser-level DNS overrides may take precedence.
Multi-device management
Available- What it does
- Register, view and remove devices from your account portal.
- How it works
- Devices appear after signing in on the app; remove them from Account > Devices.
- Supported platforms
- Web portal
- Limitations
- Up to 10 devices on personal plans.
Account protection (MFA)
Available- What it does
- Adds a second verification step when signing into your Sitrava account.
- How it works
- Enable time-based one-time passcodes from Account > Security.

- Backup codes should be stored securely.
Business administration
Beta- What it does
- Centralised team administration, role-based access and usage reporting.
- How it works
- Business administrators invite users and assign roles from the admin console.
